I was first introduced to this refreshing drink at Saptapadi restaurant, Kolkata, that is a signature drink over there. Lichu means lychee and lonka means chili, so this is a green chili-infused lychee drink and is worth for a try in this burning hot summer.
Easy and quick Lichu Lonka sharbat recipe
Lychee is my favorite tropical fruit, I just love the flavor and this lichu lonka sharbat is my absolute favorite. Along with this recipe, you can try mango jalapeno margarita recipe as well, which is quite similar.

Ingredients for making lichu lonka sharbat
- 10 lychees
- 1 green chili
- 1 tbs powdered sugar
- 1 cup of water
- 1 tsp black salt
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- Ice cubes
Instructions
How to make easily Saptapadi style lichu lonka sharbat
- First, peel all the lychees and discard the seeds.
- Now take a blending jar, add 7 lychees, 2 tbs powdered sugar,1 tsp lemon juice, 1 cup of water & 1 tsp black salt.
- Blend well and keep it in the refrigerator until you serve.
- Now in a mortar add 3 lychees & 1 lightly spiced green chili that has a nice flavor and using a pestle, muddle so that the green chili & lychees can release flavors. Add this to the lychee juice.
- Strain the juice into a glass.
- Add ice cubes and serve chilled.
Notes
- Don’t put the green chili into the blender, it will make the drink over-spiced.
- You can add some club soda for a cooling effect.
